Role summary

This role is for an experienced and motivated HCPC registered podiatrist to join the Community Podiatry Service as a Highly Specialist Podiatrist, covering Knowsley and St Helens. The post holder will be responsible for clinical service delivery, providing visible leadership, and ensuring efficient, effective, and patient-centred care. Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-level and complex triage, clinical assessment, diagnostics, treatment, and evaluation of health and well-being needs.
  • Provide leadership, promote a learning culture, lead service innovations, and demonstrate high-level problem-solving.
  • Ensure excellence in service delivery through personal and service development, underpinned by evidence-based practice and research.
  • Drive innovation and manage change processes to ensure services are flexible and proactive.
  • Be responsible for specialist assessment of complex care needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programmes with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Train, supervise, case manage, and performance manage staff and students.

Essential criteria

  • Degree/ Diploma in Podiatric Medicine
  • Master's degree / Module /post graduate qualification in relevant area of clinical expertise (or working towards) / equivalent knowledge and experience to Masters level
  • Up to date HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of up-to-date CPD Portfolio
  • POM-A / LA certificate
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage own caseload and prioritise work
  • Ability to communicate complex information to patients, carers and staff
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to utilise assessment skills and instrumentation effectively
