Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant within the Community Rehabilitation Services in Manchester. Key responsibilities
- Work with a diverse group of patients with complex medical conditions.
- Take an active part in the delivery and evaluation of evidence-based home exercise and therapeutic programmes under indirect supervision.
- Work as part of a team to develop and maintain clinical skills and competencies.
- Work without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by a qualified health care professional.
- Support patients to achieve their goals and promote independence and healthy lifestyles.
Essential criteria
- GCSE/'O' levels in numeracy and literacy
- Previous experience in caring for patients a health or social care setting
- Ability to teach practical skills.
- Ability to move and handle patients and equipment with appropriate training
- Able to develop and maintain effective communication with a range of people about a range of matters
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
- Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Able to work within a team
- Able to apply knowledge of polices, procedures, legislation and professional standards of practice
Desirable criteria
- NVQ II or above health related
- Experience of working with older people/ frailty
- Experience of lone working in the community
- Experience of exercise delivery

Job summary
The Community Rehabilitation Services in Manchester Local Care Organisation are currently recruiting Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistants. The successful candidate should be passionate about providing care to residents in their own home. Although based in one service will be opportunities to work with a variety of services that make up the ICRS.
ICRS provides therapy for patients with a wider range of conditions who would may be struggling to access care in an out-patient setting. The successful candidates will work with a team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapist as well as the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide treatment and intervention as prescribed by a qualified clinician.
The successful applicants will possess experience of working within health or social care teams, show good communication skills and be dedicated to providing high quality care to patients.
Applicants MUST have a UK driving license and access to a vehicle to travel across Manchester to be able to carry out home visits. Please note that evidence of this will be required. If you are unable to provide this evidence you will not progress to interview.
