Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Team. The role involves providing specialist assessment, management, and advice for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties in an acute hospital setting. You will manage a varied specialist caseload, including patients with dementia, and contribute to service development. Essential criteria
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
- Member of RCSLT
- Registered with HCPC
- Evidence of attendance on relevant specialist courses
- Post graduate dysphagia training
Desirable criteria
- Member of RCSLT CEN relevant to client group
- IT/keyboard skills
- Proven relevant clinical experience at post graduate level
- Experience of multi disciplinary team working
- Experience of managing complex cases
- Experience of supervising undergraduate SLT students
- Experience of devising and delivering training to multi-disciplinary team

Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Acute) Fixed-Term Post We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Adult Acute Team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a specialist service for patients admitted to our acute wards. As a senior clinician within the team, you will provide specialist assessment, management and advice for adults presenting with communication and swallowing difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting patients, their families and carers, helping them to understand and manage communication and dysphagia challenges within the acute hospital environment. This post is ideally suited to an established Band 6 therapist looking to further develop their specialist clinical skills and contribute to service development within a rewarding acute care setting. Main Duties of the Role You will manage a varied specialist caseload of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, including patients living with dementia.
