Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 6 Deputy Clinical Lead Nurse to work with a young lady with complex health needs in the Abergavenny area. The role requires working autonomously, demonstrating leadership and management skills, and supporting the individual to access community services. You will be fully supported in developing a wide range of clinical skills and professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Work autonomously while demonstrating excellent leadership and management skills.
- Delegate tasks to skilled health care support workers.
- Support the individual to access the community for health and social appointments.
- Develop a wide range of clinical skills including tracheostomy care, PEG management, and advanced communication skills.
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience at Band 5
- Staff caseload supervision
- Evidence of supervision and development of junior staff
- Able to present information effectively to individuals and groups
- Able to perform and demonstrate expanded clinical skills for area of nursing including intravenous injections, cannulation, catheterisation
- Degree level or equivalent
- Specialist clinical training, management qualification and post grad qualification or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience
- Clinical Supervision

- Involvement of undertaking a training needs assessment and analysis

An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Band 6 Deputy Clinical Lead Nurses specifically to work a young lady with complex health needs within the Abergavenny area.
Applications are welcomed from those with experience of caring for ventilated individuals. You will be fully supported to develop in a wide range of clinical skills including tracheostomy care, PEG management and advanced communication skills.
Main duties of the job
The successful individuals must be able to work autonomously whilst demonstrating excellent leadership and management skills including delegation to a skilled health care support worker.
As part of a holistic care model you will be involved in supporting the individual to access the community for both health and social appointments.
The role is challenging and rewarding and you will be fully encouraged and supported with your professional development. The care at home team has a dynamic internal education team with a focus on professional development and succession planning.
