Role summary
The Resuscitation Officer will deliver a comprehensive Resuscitation Service across the Trust, including developing, delivering, and evaluating a resuscitation curriculum. They will assist in providing an appropriate educational programme to all staff and advise on resuscitation practice and equipment commissioning. The role involves advising on resuscitation-related directives and national initiatives, requiring clinical experience in emergency care and continuous professional development. This is a Trust-wide post covering two acute sites and community areas.
Essential criteria
- 3 years post registration experience
- 2 yrs experience in acute care setting i.e., Theatres, CCU, ITU A&E, Resuscitation, pre hospital

- Previous experience in teaching resuscitation skills
- Ability to accept continuing responsibility for self development
- Education, Qualifications & Training
- RN/ODP/Paramedic
- ALS/ EPALS/ APLS Provider
- Resuscitation Council ILS Instructor
- Resuscitation Council PILS Instructor
- Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
- Theoretical Knowledge of Resus Councils Guidelines
- Ability to work with staff of all disciplines & professional backgrounds as part of a team
- Ability to express views clearly both verbally and written
- Proven skills teaching record
- Ability to work in a calm manner in situations of crisis
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to plan and prioritise own work load
- Proactive / forward thinking
- Excellent communication skills & enthusiasm
- Ability to use PowerPoint presentations
- Knowledge of databases
- A keen desire to continue to develop the departmental service
- Special Circumstances
- Current valid driving license

Job summary
o The post holder is required to, along with members of the team, deliver a comprehensive Resuscitation Service across the Trust at the direction of the Resuscitation Lead.
o This will include the development, delivery and evaluation of a resuscitation curriculum according to policy and protocols.
