Role summary
This is a fixed-term opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 6 Rotational Occupational Therapist to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. The role involves providing high-quality, person-centred OT assessment and intervention to patients with complex needs across various rotations including Care of the Elderly, Critical Care, and Orthopaedics. Essential criteria
- BSc or MSC in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapy
- Membership of specialist section groups within the Royal College of Occupational Therapy, or other groups relevant to workplace
- Adherence to the Royal College of Occupational Therapy code of ethics and professional conduct, RCOT and HCPC guidelines
- To use specialist knowledge to inform practice, and policy/service developments as applicable. Information not exclusively NHS Long term plan, and NICE, RCP and RCOT guidelines
- At least one year working as an Occupational Therapist within a comparable setting
- To be able to critically examine and evaluate own performance within the work setting, initiate change to working practice and demonstrate integration of newly acquired knowledge into practice
- At least two years experience working as an Occupational Therapist within a comparable setting
- Experience as practice educator to OT students and/or supervision of more junior OT staff

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is ready to develop their clinical and leadership skills while making a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and their families.
Working as an autonomous practitioner within our MDT, you will provide high-quality, person-centred OT assessment and intervention to patients with a range of complex needs.
We are committed to supporting the professional development and well being of our staff. You will receive clinical supervision and support, weekly IST and CPD funding/opportunities.
Rotations are 9 months in length and include Care of the Elderly, Critical Care & Surgery, Acute Medicine, Orthopaedics (elective and trauma), ED and Frailty, Palliative Care as well as community rotations with our partners in EPUT.
This is a fixed term opportunity for 9 months to cover maternity leave. Fixed term end date - 30/09/2027
