Role summary
This is a Band 4 Assistant Financial Accountant role within the Finance Team of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. It is a 2-year fixed-term contract/secondment position, primarily supporting the Treasury Management function. Key duties include updating the cashbook, assisting with control account reconciliations, VAT returns, and administering salary sacrifice schemes.
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE A-C passes or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- NVQ Level 4/AAT Qualified or equivalent experience working in a finance function.
- Substantial experience of working in a finance function, specifically dealing with Financial Services.
- Experience of working with computerised financial accounting reporting system.

- Working in the NHS.
- Skills & Knowledge
- Computer literate with a high level of IT skills required to deal with the range of financial systems in use within the Trust.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets. Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of NHS VAT rules.
- Knowledge of ESR.
- Knowledge of Agresso (Finance Accounting Package).
- Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.

Job summary
The opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Finance Team of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust on a 2 year fixed term contract/secondment basis. This is to support the Treasury Management function within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
