Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Community Learning Disability Nurse to join a well-established Community Nursing Team within Nottingham City. The role involves working autonomously with your own caseload, providing assessment and treatment to individuals with intellectual disabilities in the community. You will collaborate with patients, carers, and other professionals, contributing to care plans and risk management. The position requires a highly motivated RNLD with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload.
Essential criteria
- Professional Qualification (Learning Disabilities) to degree level or equivalent
- Maintains current registration with the NMC
- Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in specific service area or other formal training.

- Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration
- Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding
- Specialist and area specific experience.
- The ability to deal with and resolve conflict.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good written/oral communication skills
- Diplomatic, caring and sympathetic
- Ability to be flexible and handle conflict issues
- Good skills in assessment, intervention and evaluation of nursing care needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Learning Disability Nurse to work within Nottingham City.
The Intellectual Disabilities Service, Specialist Services Directorate provides specialist NHS services to people for whom mainstream services cannot meet their needs. We are seeking a Nurse to join our well established Community Nursing Team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must be an RNLD with a Diploma or Degree level in Learning Disability Nursing and be registered with the NMC.
You will be a highly motivated team player able to demonstrate a high level of professional competence. You will be expected to work autonomously and be responsible for your own caseload. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The post requires close work with patients, carers, external agencies and other health and social care professionals. As part of a team you will be expected to contribute to care plans alongside the risk management plans.
You must have the ability to analyse and assist in making decisions regarding client risk and support in complex cases.
You will be required to manage a busy caseload and carry out relevant physical and mental health assessments.
