Role summary

This role involves supporting and facilitating practice development across community nursing teams within the CLCH Academy. The Practice Development Nurse will collaborate with the Academy team and Locality Manager to plan, deliver, and evaluate staff development activities. They will help staff develop knowledge, skills, and confidence, ensuring alignment with local and national priorities. The position is part-time, with two available posts in Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea.

Key responsibilities

  • Promoting high standards of care through the application and sharing of clinical expertise.
  • Supporting the creation of a positive learning environment where staff development is encouraged and valued.
  • Facilitating induction, education and continuing professional development for registered and non-registered nursing staff across community nursing teams.
  • Working alongside staff within clinical teams to support learning, development and evidence-based practice.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of practice and workforce capability across the service.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent
  • Clinical Leadership training
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
  • Significant senior experience within district nursing services
  • Previous experience in practice development
  • Experience in taking forward clinical and service change
  • Experience of working in a changing and uncertain environment
  • Experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams
  • Experience of working with staff and stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of using evidence to inform best practice
  • Experience of engaging with patients, the public and stakeholders
  • Experience of report writing and presentation
  • Knowledge of the national priorities relating to provision of district nursing services
  • Skills in articulating a vision to staff working at different levels
  • Knowledge of practice development and change management.
  • Knowledge of the NHS agenda of how it impacts on service delivery
  • Ability to think strategically. Develop and deliver strategies and plans
