Role summary
This role supports the Electronic Patient Records (EPR) Communications and Engagement team in delivering high-quality communications for a new EPR system. The officer will handle administrative tasks, manage enquiries, and support the production of communication materials. Key responsibilities include assisting with engagement programmes, events, and promoting the EPR programme through digital channels. The position is crucial for the successful Trust-wide implementation of the new system.
Essential criteria
- GCSE standard or equivalent in English
- A Levels or equivalent level of competence
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
Desirable criteria
- Communication training or qualification
- Demonstrable and strong experience of administrative work, managing a busy and deadline demanding workload
- Experience of dealing with people at all levels including senior level and the public
- Working in a small team within a large organisation; understanding its relationships and role, working with multiple partners and stakeholders
- Experience of using initiative and enthusiasm to problem solve
- Experience of working on an EPR project.
- Experience of working in a communications function/team
- Experience of working in an NHS/public sector setting
- Experience of organising events and conferences
- Knowledge and Skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office packages - particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise several activities including diary management, and reprioritise to meet tight, conflicting, and often changing deadlines
- Ability to pull together draft reports, data and other documents
- Ability to manage own workload and work without direct supervision using own initiative within a changing and demanding environment
- Writing skills which are adaptable for a variety of different media and audiences websites / intranets, social media, magazines, newsletters
- Understanding and basic competency in social media use including smartphone videos and photography
- Ability to data input, manage/organise and analyse data on computer and information systems eg Excel

Job summary
South London and Maudsley is embarking on an ambitious project to delivery a new electronic patient record (EPR) system.
Effective communication and engagement will be key to the successful delivery of this Trust wide work.
The Communications and Engagement Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Electronic Patient Records (EPR) Communications and Engagement team to deliver consistent, high quality communications.
You will be responsible for administration of the work of the team, including handling incoming enquiries, acting as an effective and professional first point of contact and signposting people appropriately.
Main duties of the job
To act as the first point of contact for all enquiries to the EPR communications team
To support the production of communications materials for the EPR programme.
To support the management of engagement programmes and events
Work with the wider team on media opportunities for the programme
To promote the work of the programme via digital channels
