Role summary
This is an exciting part-time opportunity for an experienced Administrator/Secretary to join the Specialist Learning Disabilities Directorate at the Flanagan Centre. The role involves providing efficient secretarial support to the Clinical Team Lead and community team members. The post holder will need a flexible approach, strong prioritisation skills, and good written and interpersonal communication. Daily contact with staff, service users, and carers is expected.
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in Business Admin, finance, customer care, or relevant experience.
- Good standard of general education.
- RSA II typing or equivalent or can display word processing skills to an equivalent level of competence.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Previous demonstrable administrative experience within a health setting.
- A good understanding of office procedures and an ability to develop admin systems.
- Supports the work of a multi - disciplinary team.
- Manage and prioritise own workload.
- Dealing with the public.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within the NHS.
- Experience of supporting LD team from an admin perspective.
- Use of RiO.
- Minute taking.
- Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Easy Read.
- Excellent telephone skills.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of team.
- Proficient in the use of Office Package (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Learning Disabilities Directorate. We are looking for an experienced part-time Administrator/Secretary to join our busy team at the Flanagan Centre, St Georges Hospital. The Administrator/Secretary will provide efficient secretarial support to the Clinical Team Lead and members of the community team as required.
The post holder will be expected to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and will be able to prioritise and meet deadlines in order to meet the requirements of the service. Good written and interpersonal skills are essential. The Administrator/ Secretary will have daily contact with a wide range of staff at all levels and regular contact with service users and their carers.
