Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Respiratory Physiology Department as a Healthcare Science Associate Apprentice (Respiratory Physiology). This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills while contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services for patients with respiratory disorders across one of the UK's largest NHS Trusts.

Working under the supervision of registered Respiratory Physiologists, you will undertake the Level 4 Healthcare Science Associate Apprenticeship, combining academic study with practical workplace learning. Throughout the programme, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to support a wide range of respiratory diagnostic investigations.

Once competency has been achieved, you will assist in the delivery of respiratory diagnostic testing, including spirometry and lung function testing. You will be responsible for preparing patients for investigations, collecting and recording accurate clinical data, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and providing compassionate, patient-centred care in line with NHS values.

This is initially a fixed term contract for the duration of the Apprenticeship programme. On successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification, the role will become permanent.
