Role summary
This is a part-time Staff Nurse position (32 hours per week) in the Outpatients and Pre-Operative Assessment departments at Royal Alexandra Hospital. The role involves conducting nursing assessments for pre-operative patients, chaperoning, taking vital signs, and phlebotomy. You will also be responsible for maintaining department cleanliness, coordinating clinics, mentoring junior staff, and participating in audits. A live NMC UK pin is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patient needs, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care programmes.
- Maintain patient records in line with NMC guidelines.
- Practice within the legal and ethical framework of the NMC and national legislation.
- Organise own time and that of junior staff and learners.
- Ensure effective day-to-day management of resources including stores, supplies, pharmacy, and equipment maintenance.
- Regularly lead a team of nurses.
