Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Respiratory Specialist Nurse to join a dedicated team at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The role involves providing expert clinical assessment, education, treatment management, and ongoing support to children and young people with asthma and their families. Working part-time, the successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote best practice and improve health outcomes. This specialist Band 7 role focuses on patient-centred care and effective asthma management.
Essential criteria
- Masters level qualification or equivalent level of experience / training/ short courses.
- Registered Nurse on NMC Register with recognised Children's Nursing qualification RN Child/RSCN
- Evidence of ongoing professional development/additional qualifications
- Non - medical Prescribing Qualification or willingness to undertake
- Extensive knowledge of respiratory conditions and allergies.
- Experience of caring for children with respiratory conditions and allergies and family centred care
- Management of caseloads.
- Teaching/mentoring staff, Multi-professional teaching
- Skills and Attributes
- Administration of respiratory medication, Administration of allergy medication.Care and management of venous access.
Desirable criteria
- oWelsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Respiratory Specialist Nurse to join our dedicated team within the Paediatric Outpatient Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital .
This specialist Band 7 role offers the chance to make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people living with asthma. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical assessment, education, treatment management and ongoing support to patients and their families, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
