Key responsibilities
- Provide HR advice and guidance for Divisions and Corporate Services, operating with a level of complexity and contributing to strategic thinking.
- Provide outcome-focused, risk-assessed advice and support managers on a wide range of employment relations issues, including conduct, performance, and sickness management.
- Deliver clear, consistent, and practical advice in line with up-to-date employment law and Trust policies, supporting case investigations and advising panels at hearings.
- Aid the development of line managers' competence in day-to-day HR issues to enable confident and consistent action without initial HR guidance.
- Act as a support specialist for comprehensive, proactive HR advisory and coaching services to managers on sickness absence cases, including attendance at interviews and hearings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS initiatives and employment legislation, and analyse HR key performance indicators.

- Evidence that you hold or are working towards achieving your Level 5 Intermediate CIPD qualification in the next 12 months,
- or holds a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field

- Provide examples of managing or can demonstrate a working knowledge of basic Human Resources issues including sickness absence management, capability management, equality & diversity, disciplinary management, grievances.
- Demonstrate with examples, a working knowledge and understanding of other key human resources fields e.g. recruitment & selection, terms & conditions and change management.
- Demonstrate with examples, experience of working in a Human Resources Department with a working knowledge of an advisory service.
- Experience of delivering HR related training to varying audiences with proven examples

to join our team on a permanent basis. You will be confident in providing
credible and professional advice on all workforce related matters to our 8,000+
colleagues across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
In this varied and busy role, you will support the Medicine and Emergency Care Group. This is one of the Trusts largest clinical care group and includes our Emergency and Acute departments along with Specialty Medicine areas such as Renal, Cardiology, Diabetes and Respiratory. You will be providing first level support to our Line Managers on all employee relations related matters including dignity at work, performance management, disciplinary and grievance issues.This posts will also have a particular focus on supporting managers with their sickness absence management.
To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to think on your feet and work to tight deadlines. It is essential that you can work well under pressure whilst always maintaining a professional attitude.You will have well developed IT skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
