Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Radiographer to join an expanding team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working in newly opened hybrid theatres equipped with brand new imaging equipment, focusing on vascular intervention and interventional radiology procedures. The successful candidate will contribute to a stimulating and progressive clinical environment, bringing experience in an additional imaging modality to support the rotational nature of the role. Essential criteria

  • BSc Radiography (Hons) or Diploma of College of Radiographers (or equivalent)
  • Certificate in cannulation
  • HCPC Registered

Desirable criteria

  • Commencement of study to P.G.DIP level
  • Extensive experience of working in an acute hospital
  • Extensive experience in specialised modality practice
  • Extensive experience in interventional radiology
  • Experience working (or clear knowledge of role) in Cardiac catheterisation or vascular Lab.
  • Experience within the NHS
  • Communication Skills
  • Able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information to patients and staff
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Professional knowledge across the spectrum of cross-sectional/ specialised procedures
  • Sound scientific and technical knowledge relevant to the post - including general and cardiac catheterisation
  • Skilled in performing cross-sectional/cardiac imaging
  • Ability to undertake range of both general & specialist interventional radiology examinations
  • Personal Skills
  • Able to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
  • Build good working relationships with colleagues within Imaging and the wider organisation
  • Pay close attention to detail

Job summary

We are looking for a Band 6 radiographer to join our expanding team at this exciting time. Due to a relocation of services we have recently opened 2 brand new hybrid theatres within our new hospital wing - both with brand new imaging equipment. As the hub of the vascular services for Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes these hybrid theatres undertake vascular intervention cases along with facilitating interventional radiology procedures.

The hybrid theatres support both vascular and interventional radiology procedures, offering a stimulating and progressive clinical environment. We are looking for a radiographer who is eager to contribute during this period of growth and innovation, and who brings experience in an additional imaging modality to support the rotational nature of the role.
