Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team providing Mental Health and Wellbeing Services across HMP Norwich, HMP Bure, and HMP Wayland. The role involves delivering evidence-based interventions to a defined caseload of service users within a challenging yet rewarding prison environment. You will work autonomously under supervision, conducting assessments and interventions, and contributing to the development of the service. Independent travel between prison sites is essential.

Essential criteria

  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
  • Skills in effective risk assessment and risk management
  • Experience in the delivery of evidence based step 2 interventions

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of working in the local community
  • Experience of delivering training and developing others
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification OR Experienced and Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant experiences and competencies as required
  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
  • A qualification in provision of supervision
  • Responding flexibly and appropriately to unforeseen circumstances
  • Using clinical supervision and opportunities for personal development positively and effectively
  • Competent assessments
  • Basic IT, including use of email/internet
  • Mental health/mental Illness
  • Evidence based step-2 interventions
  • Awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar)

We are looking to recruit a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team.

Qualified applicants will hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies

You will work as part of a diverse and supportive team of Psychological Therapists, PWPs, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists. We are able offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.

THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ACCROSS MULTIPLE PRISON SITES SO THEREFORE ABILITY TO DRIVE AND TRAVEL INDEPENDENTLY IS ESSENTIAL AS SOME SITES ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT .
