Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to provide safe and compassionate care on Ward L19 (Cardiology admissions) at Leeds General Infirmary or Ward J11 (medically optimised for discharge) at St James University Hospital. You will provide high standards of basic care, support new unregistered staff, and work as part of a friendly and supportive team. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a positive and flexible approach, and a passion for acute and chronic nursing to enhance patient safety and experience.

Key responsibilities

Essential criteria

  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent health care related qualification
  • The Care Certificate or in the absence of this the jobholder must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment
  • Significant experience of working within a healthcare setting delivering personal and clinical care.
  • Utilisation of planning and organisational skills

We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 clinical support workers for Ward L19, located on F floor Jubilee Wing at the Leeds General Infirmary and Ward J11, Located on Level 7 Gledhow wing at St James University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing safe and compassionate care of their patients. This includes providing high standards of basic care and supporting and guiding new unregistered staff members.

Excellent inter-personal skills are essential. A positive and flexible style and approach is necessary and you must be a team player, who supports your colleagues and works well within the team and also independently.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a friendly and supportive team who are creative and enthusiastic, with a track record of continually improving performance.

We need someone with a passion for interventional, acute and chronic nursing to support the delivery of a high quality service that enhances patient safety and the patient experience. It is an extremely fast paced service and we care for both chronic and acute patients.
