Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient Occupational Therapy Team at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit. The role involves delivering a wide range of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to support patients on their recovery journey within acute mental health settings. You will work collaboratively with experienced OTs and OT Assistants, focusing on person-centred care and adhering to relevant acts and guidelines. Newly qualified OTs are welcome and will receive structured support and development opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions within an acute mental health setting.
- Support adults of working age experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
- Practice rooted in the principles of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act (including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards), and Safeguarding responsibilities.
- Work in alignment with the NHS Long Term Plan, promoting recovery and reducing restrictive practices.
- Adopt a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and strengths-based approach.
- Practice in accordance with RCOT professional standards and HCPC standards of proficiency.
