Key responsibilities
- Provide a full and confidential administrative admission service to consultants and their teams for all Endoscopy departments.
- Assist with Endoscopy bookings and cancer waiting list management.
- Communicate with patients, consultants, secretaries, relatives, general practitioners and other hospital staff.
- Assist with the training of new staff and provide cover for absence where necessary.
- Process data quality reports and ensure corrections are made as necessary.
- Converse with patients over the telephone providing sensitive information regarding their admission, preparation and resolving any queries.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level - Minimum Grade C in Maths and English
- Experience of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven administrative experience including initiating and maintaining office systems
- Experience of handling telephone enquiries
- Experience of planning and organising administrative tasks
- Experience of managing own workload
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and telephone communication skills. Capable of constructing and delivering clear information/instruction to a wide range of people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and able to work autonomously, working to tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to input data accurately
