Role summary
This permanent role is for a Parkinson's Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Community Neurology Team in Dudley. The post holder will manage a caseload of Parkinson's patients, providing ongoing support, assessment, and treatment in the community. Key responsibilities include specialist understanding of medications, non-medical prescribing, and undertaking nurse-led clinics. Essential criteria
- Diploma / degree in Nursing
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- MSc in relevant clinical area or equivalent post-graduate courses / experience
- Evidence of extensive, relevant post graduate training
- V300 Non- medical prescribing qualification, or, willing and able to complete it
- Evidence of relevant and extensive post-graduate experience
- Experience of carrying out audit
- Experience of working with patients with a neurological or long-term condition
- Experience of facilitating service development

- Knoweldge
- Specialist knowledge of Parkinson's Disease and its treatments or willingness to learn.
- Able to carry out self-directed learning

Parkinson's Clinical Nurse Specialist- Permanent
The post, a Clinical Specialist Nurse for Parkinson's Disease (PD), is part of the Community Neurology Team, in Dudley Rehabilitation Service (DRS), which is a specialist multidisciplinary team providing advice, rehabilitation, treatment and management of patients with neurological conditions across the Dudley Borough.
Thepost holder willwork closely withthe acute PD CNS, the elderly care andneurology consultantsand theNeurology Specialist Pharmacistbased at Russell's Hall Hospital,as well as theLongterm conditions team based in the Dudley Clinical Hubtoplan, co-ordinate and deliver care for patients to try to keep them safe and as independent as possible in the community. The post holderwill liaisewith GPsand Community PartnershipTeams in their PCN, attending meeting as necessary; as well as attending the PD multidisciplinary team meetings, and the Community Neurology pathway MDT meetings.
