Role summary
The Gloucestershire Respiratory Service is seeking an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant with an exercise background to join their accredited Pulmonary Rehabilitation service. This role involves delivering therapies and treatments across Gloucestershire, including exercise for chronic respiratory conditions, and elements of respiratory assessment and home oxygen management. The successful candidate will work closely with Nurses and Physiotherapists, contributing to clinical, administrative, and audit duties.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver exercise interventions, primarily in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, to patients with chronic respiratory conditions.
- Assist with respiratory assessment and treatment, including home oxygen management.
- Complete oxygen assessments such as ambulatory oxygen assessments and capillary blood gas assessments.
- Perform clinical, administrative, and clinical audit duties.
- Travel around Gloucestershire to deliver therapies and treatments.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 exercise qualification in personal training
- REPS / CIMSPA registration
- Evidence of delivering exercise intervention 1:1 or in a group
Desirable criteria
- Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of working with people with long term conditions

You will join our team at an exciting stage of our development. We are a Royal College of Physicians Accredited Pulmonary Rehabilitation service (2025). Embedded into our team culture is a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high quality care.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a flexible and motivated individual who will enjoy travelling around the beautiful county of Gloucestershire delivering therapies and treatment to its local respiratory community.
The service is also integrating Therapy assistants into delivering other treatments including, the management of breathlessness and home oxygen, which includes completing oxygen assessment such as ambulatory oxygen assessments and capillary blood gas assessment
A valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential.**
