Role summary
This role is for a qualified CBT Psychotherapist interested in working with people with Disordered Eating. The successful applicant will undertake a 1-year top-up training program in CBT-ED via the University of Sheffield, with protected study time. This is initially a 2-year fixed-term training role, leading to a permanent Psychological Therapist post upon successful completion of the training. The post holder will provide direct therapy to service users and support the wider Primary Care Mental Health Service.
Essential criteria
- Postgraduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy AND Accreditation with BABCP as a CBT therapist AND with either a prior core profession or via KSA route
- Post-qualification experience in CBT with a range of mental health difficulties and the ability to work therapeutically with people who have complex needs, including complex trauma.
- An interest and experience of working with people with disordered eating.
- Knowledge of the application of CBT and related therapeutic approaches to people with complex mental health needs, including the management of risk. An ability to share this knowledge with colleagues from other professional backgrounds.

Job summary
Are you a qualified CBT Psychotherapist? Would you like to develop your skills to work with people with Disordered Eating?
We are delighted to invite applications for a full-time Cognitive Behavioural therapist to work with people who have disordered eating but who may not meet the criteria for specialist Eating Disorder services. Applicants may already be trained in CBT-ED, or they may have a general CBT qualification (plus BABCP accreditation) and have an interest in this area. There will be an opportunity to apply for the 1-year top up training via the University of Sheffield CBT -Eating disorders training programme and the successful applicant will be given protected time to undertake this course of study. In addition, they will join the CONNECT Specialist Eating Disorder Service on placement to gain experience of working with more complex Eating Disorders.
For applicants who do not yet have specialist CBT-ED training, this would be offered as a training role and any offer will be made on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 2 years . This would lead to a permanent Psychological Therapist post at the end of this period, subject to successful completion of the top-up CBT programme.
