Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and clinical development of the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders.
- Provide expert psychological assessment and formulation for children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Oversee and develop multi-disciplinary assessment pathways, ensuring efficient, child-centred, and evidence-based practice.
- Offer clinical supervision, consultation, and leadership to psychologists and other professionals within the service.
- Collaborate with key partners, including CAMHS, Community Paediatrics, Children’s Health Services, education, social care, and third-sector organisations.
- Contribute to training, service evaluation, and the implementation of the national neurodevelopmental specification.
Essential criteria
- HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with significant experience in neurodevelopmental assessment and leadership.
- Expertise in the assessment and formulation of neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in service development and multi-disciplinary working.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and support a team of clinicians, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- A commitment to improving access to high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments in line with national policy.
