Role summary
This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the dispensary team at University Hospital Lewisham. The role involves organising and managing dispensary services, including inpatients, controlled drugs, and clinical trials, and deputising for the Lead Pharmacy Technician. The successful candidate will also perform Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) duties and contribute to staff management and training within the pharmacy department. Essential criteria
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills QCF or equivalent
- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or willing to undertake

- Good communication skills, both written and oral, of specialist clinical information.
- Able to make interventions assertively and appropriately
- Ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a team both within pharmacy and a multidisciplinary environment
- Ability to prioritise and plan work effectively alone and for a team including the ability to delegate appropriately
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office software with proven computer literacy and IT skills including: o Email Ability to manage difficult and complex issues or refer appropriately. A good understanding of Good Clinical Practice o Word processing, Excel

An opportunity has arisen within the Pharmacy Department at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join the University Hospital Lewisham dispensary team.
This is an ideal opportunity for pharmacy technicians from hospital and/or community backgroundwith ACPT qualification and relevant experience looking for a challenge to develop their skills as a senior technician in dispensary and pharmacy operations.
We are recruiting pharmacy technicians, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Main duties of the job
The pharmacy department consists of a range of staff from pharmacy assistants, through to registered pharmacy technicians and pharmacists and provides training for staff at all levels.
The dispensary team is fully pharmacy technician lead and made up of a mix of 10-20 multi-skilled staff including a core static team of senior pharmacy technicians and senior assistants.
