Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Support the Team Manager in developing operational and clinical service mechanisms.
- Act as an exemplar professional role model, embracing core values of dignity, respect, care, and compassion.
- Undertake mental health assessments, risk assessments, care planning, and implementation/review of services.
- Care coordinate those on CPA, ensuring reviews align with policy and guidelines.
- Provide structured therapeutic interventions with complex clients in one-to-one or group settings.
- Manage a caseload and prioritise effectively.
Essential criteria

- Registered Nurse (Mental Health) or Social Worker , Occupational therapist
- Evidence of post -registration continuing professional development activity
- Evidence of working in a Multi disciplinary team
- Have a understanding of mental health assessments, risk assessment and care planning
- Have awareness of evidence based practice
- Able to prioritise care management
- Evidence of clinical assessment and formulation skills
- Teaching and presentation skills
Desirable criteria
- NMP registrant
- Knowledge of trauma informed care
- Understanding of the criminal justice pathway
- Worked or had experienced in secured setting
- Postgraduate training for example CBT/DBT

The team consists of Senior Mental Health Nurse's,occupational Therapist, Perinatal Specialists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and support worker. The Mental Health Team covers a seven-day service, thepost holder will work as a core member of the team delivering and providing a comprehensive safe, effective mental health service thatencompasses primary and secondary mental health provision within the prison, ensuring a Trauma Informed co-produced recovery focussedservice.The post holder will utilise a variety of practical and theoretical knowledge with the team to deliver both individual and group workings with service users open to the Mental Health Team, following the stepped care model.
