Role summary
This is an opportunity for a kind and caring Health Care Assistant to join the team at Millom Community Hospital. The role involves working primarily on a 9-bedded in-patient unit, with occasional requirements to work within the district nursing team. The successful applicant will work 30 hours per week on an internal rotation basis, covering early, late, and night shifts over a 7-day rota. Previous care experience is desired, along with a reliable and dedicated nature.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the staff nurse to deliver a high standard of care to all patients.
- Report back to the staff nurse information gathered during a shift regarding patient care and safety.
- Work alongside other dedicated team members to deliver all activities of daily living to patients.
- Work closely with all members of the department/team.
- Be responsible and accountable to the registered nurse, organising own workload following delegation.
- Supervise the work of junior staff and learners within the team/department.
Essential criteria
- experience of working in a care environment
- Experience of delivering care and documenting legible.
Desirable criteria
- experience of supporting patients with all activities of daily living
- experience with EMIS

Job summary
A ideal opportunity has arisen for a kind and caring person to join our team of health professionals here at Millom community hospital.
The post will be primarily working on the 9 bedded in-patient unit however, there may be at times a requirement to work within our district nursing team.
The successful applicant will be required to work early shifts, late shifts and night shifts on a internal rotation basis. This is a 24 hour care facility where flexibility of working is required to support the smooth running of the service.
The idea applicant would have previous experience in care along with a reliable and dedicated nature.
The post will offer 30 hours per week over a 7 day rota.
