Role summary
This is a 1-year fixed-term Band 7 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist role at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will assess and treat patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and musculoskeletal obstetric conditions. They will also support the clinical lead with service development and data collection, working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves supervising and teaching junior staff and students, and participating in evidence-based projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and musculoskeletal obstetric conditions.
- Support the clinical lead with service development and data collection.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner within the multidisciplinary Pelvic Health Service.
- Provide highly specialised assessment and intervention for a varied caseload of outpatients with Pelvic Health conditions.
- Supervise, teach, and appraise junior, assistant, and student physiotherapists.
- Supervise, initiate, and participate in evidence-based projects and lead in-service trainings.
Essential criteria
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or Diploma or equivalent
- Health and Care Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for profession
- Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development in specialist clinical area
- Substantial postgraduate experience at a Band 6 level or equivalent including within specialist area
- Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of patients within specialist clinical area
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Awareness of cognitive behavioural approaches to rehabilitation
- Experience of group work
- Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of teaching to unidisciplinary/ multidisciplinary groups
- Evidence of active involvement in service development & contribution to change within the workplace
- Specialist knowledge within the specialist field and ability to apply this in a clinical setting
- Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning and the management of complex cases
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of clinical governance and its application to the work setting.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to best practice and awareness of relevant national standards/guidelines
- Knowledge of recent professional developments in the clinical area
- Ability to critically evaluate current research & apply to own practice Positive attitude to and ability to cope well with change
