Role summary
This role provides efficient and timely administrative support to the Head of Forensic Social Work, Social Work Management Team, and Social Workers at Broadmoor Hospital. Key duties include managing paperwork for Mental Health Tribunals, maintaining department databases, and drafting correspondence. The post holder will also provide comprehensive secretarial support, including typing reports and minutes, and assisting with Child Visiting Procedures administration. This position ensures smooth administrative operations for the social work team.
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent
- Typing qualification to intermediate level
Desirable criteria
- Shorthand / speed writing
- NVQ Level 2-3
- Diploma in administration or business
- A background of secretarial experience
- Audio typing experience
- Experience of Microsoft Office packages
- Accurate data entry
- Experience of organising meetings and taking minutes
- Diary Management
- Previous experience within an NHS setting at PA to Senior Manager level.
- Experience of working with a range of IT systems (e.g. Intranet, e-mail, databases)
- Proficient in Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of mental health services
- Basic knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
- Understanding of mental health issues.
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Databases (Microsoft Access or equivalent).
- Trained in the use of RiO or similar electronic patient record system.
- Ability to work autonomously using own initiative
- A high degree of accuracy
- Excellent Audio /copy typing skills
- Fast accurate typing skills - 60wpm

Administration Officer - Social Work Administrator

To provide an efficient and timely administration support service to the Head of Forensic Social Work, Social Work Management Team and the Social Workers at Broadmoor Hospital, in line with National and Local Frameworks and Service Level Agreements.
Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and secretariat support to the Social Work Team Manager and Head of Forensic Social Work as required.
To ensure paperwork for Mental Health Tribunals, Pre-admission assessments and new patient admissions are filed and uploaded as per requirements; liaising with internal and external departments/agencies regarding any legal requirements.
Ensure department databases are kept up to date, ensuring accuracy at all times including Third Party Confidential information and the Risk to Children risk assessments.
To draft / send responses to applications and correspondence (following approval) regarding carers and volunteer matters.
