Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join a patient-focused team at Fairfield General Hospital & Rochdale Infirmary. Key responsibilities
- Optimise patient medication to identify and resolve medication-related issues.
- Reduce risks from prescribing errors and continuously review prescribing for harm-free patient care.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, including specialist nurses and consultants, within multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide expert advice on medication management and support medical staff in safe, cost-effective prescribing.
- Ensure accurate medication information is provided to primary and community care providers upon patient discharge.
- Be willing to work flexible hours over a seven-day period within a structured rota.
Essential criteria
- Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Skills for analysing drug charts and patient information in order to provide advice on medicines, dosages
- Good time management skills
- Influencing skills
- Understanding of issues affecting NHS & hospital pharmacy
- Professional knowledge acquired through a vocational master's degree in pharmacy
- Ability to work on initiative and as part of a team
- Self-motivating
- Commitment to continuing professional development / education
- Computer literate
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
Desirable criteria
- Completed foundation pharmacist training and passed registration exam
- Independent Transport available
- Sufficient hospital pharmacy experience
