Role summary

This role is for a highly motivated Business Support Manager to join the Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service (PaNDR) at Addenbrooke's & The Rosie Hospitals in Cambridge. The service provides critical care retrieval across the East of England. The manager will lead business support functions, manage service areas, coordinate the Emergency Bed Service team, and oversee staff development. The position requires strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on a number of business support functions for the PaNDR office and be responsible for the implementation and management of relevant systems and processes.
  • Manage defined service areas within the responsibility of PaNDR, supporting Trust and regional strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate the day to day activities of the Emergency Bed Service team.
  • Lead on staff development for the Emergency Bed Service within PaNDR.
  • Act as the accountable lead for business and administrative support within the PaNDR service.
  • Lead on service improvement and development necessary to address the changing needs of the PaNDR service.
  • Maintain and promote the professional image of the PaNDR service.
  • Supervise and coordinate a comprehensive, confidential and high quality Executive Assistant service to the PaNDR Senior Management Team.

Essential criteria

  • Postgraduate education or equivalent experience
  • Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent professional experience
  • Management qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of managing staff/a busy office environment
  • Complex administrative experience
  • Prioritising, planning and organising own and others tasks
  • Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
  • Experience in working collaboratively across professions and services
  • Experience of financial budgeting, planning and analysis
  • Recruitment and Selection of staff
  • Performance management of staff
  • Good knowledge of governance processes, preferably in a large, complex organisation
  • Confidentiality and data protection processes and procedures

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Support Manager to join the Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service (PaNDR).

Based at Addenbrooke's & The Rosie Hospitals in Cambridge, PaNDR is a unique regional service, delivering paediatric and neonatal critical care retrieval across 17 hospitals within the East of England.
