The role:

The Acute Oncology Assessment Unit at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is a nurse-led unit run by experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The unit provides unscheduled care to patients who present acutely unwell as a result of an oncological emergency or as a side effect of their cancer or cancer treatment.

Patients may be admitted from outpatient and day-case treatment areas within the hospital, or as unwell admissions from home. The unit also houses the Cancer Treatment Helpline
