Key responsibilities
- Providing leadership and accountability for the standards of nursing practice within the ward.
- Leading, managing, and developing the nursing workforce to deliver a high-quality, patient-centred, and cost-effective service.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, supporting staff development, wellbeing, and professional growth.
- Ensuring the ward operates efficiently, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, effective resource management, and compliance with quality and performance standards.
- Managing complaints, clinical incidents, and near misses within the ward.
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes and enhance the patient and family experience.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse on appropriate part of the NMC Register
- Willingness to further develop knowledge and skills
- Extensive post registration experience including significant experience within relevant speciality at Band 6 or equivalent
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence
