Role summary
This role is for an experienced pelvic health clinician to cover a maternity leave period, focusing on managing a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions in an acute setting. The post holder will be supported in professional development and will promote the specialist physiotherapy service within multi-disciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include providing highly specialist assessment and treatment, supervising staff and students, and contributing to service planning and evaluation.
Essential criteria
- oAdvanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology related to women's health patients
- oAdvanced clinical reasoning skills in women's health.
- oReport writing skills
- oUnderstanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
- oExcellent verbal and written communication skills
- oAbility to keep legible and accurate notes in English in the POMR system
- oAble to present information in a clear and logical manner
- oPresentation and teaching skills
- oAbility to lead and motivate others within the team
- oProven organisational skills, including prioritisation and delegation
- oAble to work at intense levels of concentration during most of the working day
- oCompetent IT skills
- oResearch skills
- oCounselling skills
- oAbility to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment
- oAble to carry out moderate physical effort throughout the working day and carry out concurrent activities

- Qualifications & Learning
- oDiploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- oRegistered with the Health & Care Professions Council
- oEvidence of Continuing Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate masters level courses relevant to the clinical field.
- oMinimum 5 years post registration experience
- oTwo to three years as Band 6
- oExperience of staff supervision and development
- oEvidence of participation in research / audit

Job summary
This role is to cover a period of maternity leave within the team.
The post holder will provide the opportunity for an already experienced clinician in pelvic health to develop further in the management of a wide variety of pelvic floor dysfunction in an acute setting. The successful applicant will be fully supported to identify appropriate goals towards continued professional development and working within the multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation promoting the profile of the specialist physiotherapy service.
Main duties of the job
- To deputise for the Physiotherapy Service Manager and work with the manager /rest of the team, to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service provided.
- Be responsible for providing highly specialist and complex assessment and treatment of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Supervision, support and education to physiotherapists and physiotherapy undergraduates and other colleagues within the MDT both within the Trust and the community.
