Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy services.
- Undertake medicines reconciliation, reuse checks, and ordering.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines use.
- Support specialist areas including perinatal mental health, CAMHS inpatient services, low secure forensic units & MHIST.
- Contribute to service development, audit, teaching and quality improvement.
- Provide professional support and supervision to pre-registration and student pharmacists.
Essential criteria
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Registered as practising pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Evidence of clinical pharmacy training
- Specialised and up to date knowledge relating to medicines management
- Knowledge of NHS policy, process and guidelines relating to medicines management, pharmacy and mental health
- Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit and risk management
- Good IT skills - Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail and web applications.
- Post registration experience working in hospital pharmacy
- Experience of implementing new procedures or guidelines
- Demonstrate alignment with Trust Values (6 C's: Commitment, Communication, Care, Courage, Compassion, Competency)
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate clinical or mental health pharmacy qualification
- Specialist knowledge of mental health therapeutics
- Post registration experience working in mental health pharmacy
- Experience in education and training
