  • Flexible availability to ensure service is covered between the hours of 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week

Job summary

The Emergency & Integrated Medicine Care Service Unit (ICSU) is looking to recruit a Band 3 Ward Clerk to work within dedicated specialty areas.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join a busy team. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure is essential to the role.

The ideal candidate will have NHS experience and a flexible approach to work. They willtake responsibility, without close supervision, for providing administrative support to the Emergency and Integrated Medicine Acute Wards. The post holder will answer telephone calls and redirect as necessary, carrying out their duties in a polite and professional manner. This is a patient facing role and will require an individual who has a calm demeanour and an ability to work in a dynamic environment.

The post will start as soon as possible.

Main duties of the job

To liaise with a range of other health professionals and departments within the hospital ensuring the department interfaces efficiently with them. To respect patient and staff confidentiality. Attend and participate in regular team meetings for the ward and any others
