Role summary
This role is for a dynamic and compassionate Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join an innovative crisis response pathway in Newham. You will support individuals experiencing mental health crises, working within an extended-hours service alongside various community teams. The position involves making immediate differences in challenging moments, providing timely support in the least restrictive environment. You will conduct risk assessments, formulate crisis plans, and mobilise community resources to promote recovery and independence.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse Part 3 and 13 (NMC) / Registered Social Worker (Social Work England) Evidence of continual professional development. ENB 998 or equivalent (Nurses) Evidence of portfolio.
- AMHP qualification
- Experience of making full psycho-social assessment and writing reports. Experience of working in a multi-racial inner city area.
- At least 18 months experience of working as a qualified RMN or Social Worker including relevant community experience.
- Experience of working as part of a multi-professional team
- Experience of working in a multi-racial inner city area.
- Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Leadership skills
- Ability to manage self and others.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a Team
- Ability to be innovative in daily practice.
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Understanding of the Care Programme Approach
- Understanding of the Care Act 2014
- Evidence Based De-escalation techniques / Harm minimization
- Knowledge of NICE guidelines and current research.
- Ability to work unsociable hours on a rotation basis.
- Education/ Qualification/ Training
