Role summary
This role is for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner within the Peterborough Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team (CRHTT). The post holder will conduct comprehensive assessments, collaboratively plan care and treatment interventions, and manage high-risk presentations. It involves providing urgent mental health assessments and home treatment, contributing to team objectives through clinical leadership, and ensuring effective communication with partner agencies. The role requires flexible working patterns to cover a 24/7 service.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and collaboratively plan care and treatment interventions.
- Effectively manage high risk presentations, requiring strong knowledge in risk management and safety planning.
- Offer urgent Mental Health Assessment and Home Treatment for those requiring the Team's services.
- Identify appropriate interventions or management, or recommend suitable referral agencies.
- Provide assessment reports/letters of a high standard and monitor junior staff reports.
- Contribute to achieving Team objectives, monitoring, and evaluating workloads through effective clinical leadership.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Social Work
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Experience in leadership role
- Experience of developing and providing teaching programmes
- Experience of managing and training staff
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- Clear evidence of effective & safe decision making and problem solving.
- Ability to contribute to service development and ability to manage change
- Ability to work under pressure
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
- Understanding of therapeutic skills for clinicians required to support patients in an acute phase of illness
- Clear understanding of CRHTT practice and treatment objectives.
- Commitment to and understanding of IT.
- Knowledge of SOVA and Safeguarding policies
- Able to cover shifts over a 24 hour period, 7 days a week
- Ability to travel across a large geographical patch
- Committed to the empowerment of service users and carers promoting their involvement in service delivery
- Provide and promote non-discriminatory care
Desirable criteria
- Post qualification specialist mental health training
- Qualification in leadership
- Ability to deliver mental health awareness and varied concise information
- Ability to develop and lead new initiatives within the clinical care environment
- Mental Health Act Training
- Any additional training relevant to CRHTT intervention
