Role summary

This is an innovative career opportunity for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join a multidisciplinary team on Ellis Ward, an Acute Male Inpatient Ward in Lincoln. You will work under the supervision of registered professionals, providing direct care, monitoring patient needs, maintaining clinical records, and assisting with care plans. Essential criteria

  • Cavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards resourced by LPFT
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Promoting Independence or equivalent or working towards achievement.

Desirable criteria

  • Certificate in Community Mental Health
  • ECDL
  • Previous relevant experience working with people with mental health problems at a HCSW grade or equivalent within a health and social care setting.
  • Voluntary or working capacity with mental health service or equivalent
  • Ability to undertake Reducing and Restrictive Practice (RRP)
  • A patient and empathic approach
  • Effective communication with service user, other members of the team and outside agencies
  • Clear accurate clinical note keeping
  • Skills related to Physical healthcare interventions such as urine analysis, phlebotomy, TPR and BP etc, recording findings and informing supervising nurse of results
  • De-escalation Skills.
  • Planning and organisation skills.
  • IT skills
  • Immediate life support
  • Venepuncture
