Role summary
This role involves supervising a team of domestic staff to ensure high standards of cleaning are maintained within a healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include organising staff, covering absences, and ensuring adherence to trust policies and safety standards. The supervisor will also be responsible for training staff, conducting quality checks, and managing cleaning consumables. A 'can-do' attitude and experience in supervising cleaning services are essential.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in leadership (or equivalent)
- Previous cleaning experience at a supervisory level
- Previous experience of cleaning
Desirable criteria
- Previous cleaning experience at a supervisory level within a healthcare environment
- Previous experience of cleaning within a healthcare environment
- An understanding of C.O.S.H.H. regulations
- Health and safety basic knowledge
- An understanding of the operating of cleaning machinery
- Excellent Communication skills
- Basic data inputting either manually or using a computer/tablet
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisation skills
- Other
- Prepared to study for NVQ level 3 in leadership
- Ability and willingness to undertake further training as necessary

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced supervisor to join the Domestic services department. The role of the domestic supervisor is critical in ensuring that the required standards of cleaning that are required within a healthcare environment, are adhered too.
A can do attitude is key.Knowledge and experience of supervising a cleaning service is essential and any such experience with healthcare would be beneficial.The ability to work as part of a large team is also essential as is the need for flexibility in order to meet the ever change needs of the service.
