Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Construct complete and partial fixed prostheses using various materials (acrylic, all-ceramic, composite, cast dental alloys, PEEK).
- Utilise CAD/CAM technology for designing and manufacturing fixed prostheses.
- Ensure turnaround times are met and escalate issues to the Laboratory Manager.
- Produce work to the highest possible standard, meeting service user needs, and escalate quality concerns.
- Prioritise own workload, plan appliances, and make adjustments to meet appointment dates and maintain records.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and occasionally patients for shade taking.
Essential criteria
- Registered Dental Technician
- Evidence of significant continuous professional and personal development
- Fully qualified dental technician holding a BTEC Diploma/BSc in Dental Technology or equivalent
- Experienced in multiple unit crown and bridge restorative cases
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in all-ceramic
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in metal-ceramic
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in composite
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Highly motivated and flexible approach to work
- Willingness to learn new ways of working and respond positively to changing work demands
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- Ability to work as a member of the laboratory team
Desirable criteria
- Worked in Hospital/NHS setting
- Experience in the use of CAD/CAM technology

We are looking for an experienced dental technician to integrate into our laboratory to work to clinical prescription producing complex dental technical restorations related to fixed prosthodontics. The vast majority of the work of this post holder will be the construction of multiple-unit crown and bridge restorations. There will also be the opportunity for the individual to learn and progress in implant restorations.
