Role summary
Join our expanding theatre team as an Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner in the Sharoe Green Unit. You will deliver and coordinate patient care, maintain high standards, and act as a role model within a 24-hour unit covering various specialties including Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Colorectal MDT. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while closely collaborating with the operating team.
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse / ODP with current NMC/ HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD ( experienced band 5 's)
- Basic IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of IV drug administration
- Experience of venepuncture and cannulation
- Degree
- Transfer course
- NMC Recognised mentorship qualification or willingness to working towards within 18 months
- Post registration Anaesthetic course if not an ODP
- Knowledge & Experience
- Willingness to expand clinical role
- Awareness of current issues in practice
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to practice
- Knowledge of ethical issues
- Knowledge of Harris Flex and evolve
- Experience within the anaesthetic practitioner role

Job summary
We are currently looking to recruit motivated, dynamic, forward thinking and enthusiastic Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners to join our expanding theatre team in the Sharoe Green Unit. We are looking for pro-active individuals to be part of our integral theatre team to assist in implementing, maintaining and delivering world class patient care in theatres.
You will be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice and assist in setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
You will act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation and promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals
Main duties of the job
Working at the Sharoe Green Unit will give you the opportunity to work in a specialised Obstetrics & Gynaecology including benign and oncology work as well as supporting our Colorectal MDT.
Given the wealth of specialties we cover you will be required to work as part of a 24hr unit , including days, weekend working and night duty.
