Role summary
This role is for a resilient Occupational Therapist to join the Community Mental Health Team in Witney or Banbury, focusing on older adult mental health. You will provide assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions to older adults across North and West Oxfordshire. - Post graduate qualifications specifically relating to an appropriate aspect of care or management.
- Occupational Experience
- Appropriate experience and a high level of knowledge about community mental health care with older adults.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and an understanding of CMHTs and interdisciplinary working.
- Understanding and experience of risk management both clinically and operationally.
- Good understanding of clinical governance and your professional legal responsibilities.
- Experience of supervising other staff.
- Good knowledge of community services in the local area.
- Awareness of National and local policy concerning mental health guidance.
- Experience of conducting clinical audit and presenting the resulting analyse.
- Experience of supervising students on placements.
- Skills required - IT / Admin
- IT literacy, to include the Microsoft suite of programmes.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding and commitment to work within the Trust policies of data protection, equal opportunities, health & safety, and to meet the diverse needs of patients.
- Ability to travel around the local area to undertake home visits and visits to hospital and non-hospital sites, and have the capacity to carry equipment relative to your post.
- Car driver with own car available to use for work.

Job summary
Are you a resilient Occupational Therapist with demonstrable post qualification experience, who is keen to take on the challenges older adult mental health groups face?
We are recruiting for a full time Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health Team, based in Witney or Banbury. You'll provide assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions to a wide range of older adults across North and West Oxfordshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills within a team committed to the wellbeing and development of all staff.
We believe inlistening and responding as a team, piloting new models , supporting each other and developing and using new care approaches .
Working in the towns of Witney and Banbury, we focus on the recovery of patients through a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach, with expertise from doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers and psychological therapies staff alongside regular clinical team meetings. We strive to provide person centred evidence-based care to patients and where possible working collaboratively with their families and carers.
