Role summary
This role is for a Bank Registered Theatre Practitioner to work flexibly across North Bristol Trust and University Hospitals Bristol & Weston. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient care in operating departments, ensuring high standards of safety and adherence to professional codes of conduct. The position offers flexible working patterns, competitive pay, and opportunities to broaden clinical skills in state-of-the-art facilities. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care, and acting as a role model.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse or ODP with current live NMC/ HCPC registration
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Attained competencies in Anaesthetics/ Scrub/ Recovery roles
Desirable criteria
- Teaching and assessing qualification (998 or equivalent) or willing to undertake after 2 years post registration (secured a position on this type of course)
- Post basic specialist qualification eg: perioperative modules, Surgical First Assistant
- Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in a perioperative environment within the last 18-24 months
- Experience across a range of surgical specialties
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced communication skills, verbal & written, to include report writing and record keeping.
- Basic computer / IT skills and expectation to develop these in line with the needs of the service i.e. IHS, Acis, Email use.
- Excellent organisational skills, proven ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure
- Sound knowledge of the guidelines set out in the NMC/ HCPC code of professional conduct and current issues
- Ability to organise own workload, time management/Basic Problem solving skills
- Qualifications and Training
