Role summary

This is a 10-month fixed-term/secondment position for a qualified Physician Associate within the Community Services Department (Diabetes and Endocrinology) at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital. The role involves providing patient care, including clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment under consultant mentorship. The successful candidate will be an autonomous team player, working with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs. Education and supervision are provided through accredited and in-house training.

Essential criteria

  • Degree in a life science and/or a significant background in healthcare
  • Master's degree in Physician Associate Studies from a recognised UK training programme and evidence of successful completion of the UK National PA exam.
  • GMC Registration
  • Undertakes continuing medical examinations to maintain ongoing certification with the PA managed voluntary register or equivalent.
  • Experience required to fulfil the post.
  • Experience of working within a medicine environment
  • Aptitude and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to communicate complex information both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work using own initiative to manage own workload.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills and knowledge in areas of risk assessment
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and personal development

Job summary

Applications are invited for a qualified Physicians Associate on a fixed term period of 10 months. Working within the Community Services Department (Diabetes and Endocrinology) based in Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital the post holder will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic Multidisciplinary Team. The post holder will be welcomed by those working in the department, with every encouragement provided to develop and consolidate their Medical knowledge.

This post is a fixed term contract/ secondment for 10 months till 27th of June 2027 to cover maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

As a Physicians Associate you will provide care for patients including clinical assessments, diagnosis and treatment under the mentorship of a consultant.

The successful candidate will be autonomous, a team player and will be expected to work with the wider practice team to deliver services to meet the needs of the patients. The ability to multi-task and to work under pressure is essential and you must also be adaptable to a varied and high volume workload.
