Role summary
This is a permanent, full-time Senior Clinical Psychology post within the child neurodevelopment service in Caernarfon. The role involves leading highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and providing advice for children, young people, and their families across Gwynedd and Anglesey. The post-holder will work closely with a diverse multidisciplinary team, focusing on complex clinical formulations and diagnostic decisions. There is also an opportunity for development from a Band 7 to an 8a position with tailored support and supervision.
Essential criteria
- Honours Degree in Psychology
- Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
- Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable criteria
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills
- Demonstration of further specialist training / experience through having received extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Head of Clinical Psychology Services
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision

Job summary
We are excited to be advertising a permanent, full-time Senior Clinical Psychology post in our child neurodevelopment service, for suitably skilled and experienced applicants. We also warmly welcome applications seeking to join at Band 7 and follow a supportive development plan towards the senior 8a position.
The post-holder will be a valued member of our diverse and vibrant MDT based in Caernarfon. We provide highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and advice for children and young people referred to our service, and their families.
You will be key in leading neurodevelopmental assessments for children across Gwynedd and Anglesey, working closely with our team - particularly where there are complex factors to consider in building clinical formulations and making complex diagnostic decisions. Your clinical leadership skills will be valued and nurtured.
We enjoy close working with our local child and adolescent learning disability and mental health services, and our multiagency partners. We have an excellent relationship with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.
