Role summary
This role involves undertaking maintenance and technical cleaning duties across the estate, primarily at Salford Royal Hospital. You will work with tradestaff teams, using your knowledge of HVAC systems or building maintenance, including painting and decorating. Essential criteria
- Multi-skill qualification e.g. NVQ level 1 or 2 in a trade or a multi-skill qualification
- Recognised Apprenticeship
- Current full driving licence
Desirable criteria
- BTEC ONC in Building Studies
- Working at Heights Training Certificate. Mobile Towers, Scaffolds, and ladders, etc.
- Confined Spaces
- First Aid Trained
- Multi-skill qualification i.e., NVQ level 1 or 2 in another trade or a multi-skill qualification
- Forklift Truck driving license
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
- Computer literate and keyboard skills including understanding the use of outlook, handheld devices (additional training will be provided

Job summary
Based at Salford Royal Hospital (but will include travel to other sites within the NCA Trust), the role will involve undertaking maintenance and technical cleaning duties across the estate and working closely with the other members of the tradestaff teams.
As a member of the PLACE Team, you will have a maintenance / handyperson knowledge of HVAC systems or building related background including painting and decorating. You will have experience of using hand and power tools, working at heights from steps / platforms and be able to carry out maintenance, repairs and installation on a range of estates structural and fabric components/elements with minimum supervision throughout the Trust.
You will also act as the Trust representative in the absence of the Estates Officer/Supervisor when requested to do so as and when the need arises by line management.
Due to the wide range of services provided by the estates team, there is a comprehensive training package in place, allowing all our staff to be fully trained and competent in their role. This will, on occasion, require the post holder to attend various training courses that may involve a limited amount of offsite residential training.
