Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with neuro experience to join the Integrated Neuro therapy services at Croydon Healthcare Services NHS Trust. The role involves providing specialised OT interventions to patients with neurological conditions across various settings, including a stroke unit, community stroke rehab, community neuro rehab, and acute neuro service. The successful candidate will work autonomously under the supervision of a Band 7 OT and will rotate through different teams to develop skills in neurorehabilitation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a range of specialised OT interventions to patients with neurological conditions.
- Work autonomously under the supervision of a Band 7 Occupational therapist.
- Work in a variety of settings including Broad Green Centre, patient's home, other community settings and Croydon University Hospital.
- Work on the 26 bedded Acute Stroke unit providing in-patient rehabilitation.
- Facilitate discharge of patients from Croydon University Hospital and local Hyper Acute Stroke Units.
- Support adults with a wide variety of neurological conditions in individual and group sessions.
Essential criteria
- BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registered as OT
- Knowledge of a range of OT models and demonstrate being up to date with developments in OT neuro rehab
- Awareness of clinical guidelines and NSF's in Neuro rehabilitation
- Postgraduate, incorporating experience in a variety of relevant core specialities, including stroke rehab
- Experience working as an OT with adults in NHS
- Identifies what attracts them to this specific post at Croydon Health services Trust
- Demonstrates a commitment and motivation to work with people with Neurological conditions
- Flexible and adaptable to change to meet the needs of the service
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate training relevant to Stroke
- Previous OT Band 6 experience with adults
- Previous Community Band 6 OT experience with adults

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Occupational Therapy Neuro Rehab rotation, within the wider Integrated Neuro therapy services at Croydon Healthcare services NHS Trust.
We are looking for an individual with neuro experience and a keen interest in Neuro rehabilitation to join the Integrated neuro therapy team in Croydon.
The successful candidate will provide a range of specialised OT interventions to patients with neurological conditions, enabling them to maximise their independence. The post holder is an autonomous practitioner but will work under the supervision of a Band 7 Occupational therapist and will be expected to work in a variety of settings including Broad Green Centre, the patient's own home, other community settings and Croydon University Hospital, as required within the rotations.
