Role summary
This part-time, fixed-term Pathway Navigator role provides maternity cover within the Babies, Children's & Young People (BCYP) Division. Based at Graseby House, Barnet Hospital, the post-holder will coordinate patient pathways across paediatric services. They will act as a key point of contact for patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery. Responsibilities include managing clinic outcomes, patient tracking, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
Essential criteria
- RSA 2 or RSA 3-word processing/typing or equivalent experience
- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust shared commitments.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience of working with the public and/or patients in a healthcare environment
- Experience of interaction with all levels of staff
- Previous administrative and organisational experience
- Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems
- Experience of working with Cerner, or similar electronic Patient Administration Systems
- Others
- Team work and ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships within different teams and relevant administrative, clinical and management staff
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Education and professional qualifications

Main duties of the job

Working closely with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative colleagues, the post-holder will act as a key point of contact for patients and families, supporting effective communication and service delivery.
The post-holder will contribute to maintaining service continuity, meeting operational targets and supporting high-quality patient care throughout the maternity cover period.
