Role summary

This role involves training to become a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for common mental health problems like depression and anxiety. Trainees will attend university teaching, self-directed study, and clinical practice, managing a high-volume caseload with supervision. Upon successful completion, there's an opportunity for a substantive contract and registration with BABCP or BPS.

Essential criteria

  • A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (e.g., Registered Nurses and AHPs). OR 2 Advanced Level GCEs (A-C) or equivalent (e.g., B-tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4).
  • Significant experience working with adults who have experienced a mental health problem (a minimum of 12 months experience would be expected) OR 3 years part-time voluntary experience with an established charity (such as MIND, Samaritans) offering interventions to people experiencing common mental health issues

Job summary

We are seeking highly organised and motivated individuals with a commitment to the NHS and patient care to train and study for the professional role of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Successful candidates will be trained to deliver Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, which are the cornerstone of NHS Talking Therapies Services.
